Kanye West "Power (Remix)" With Jay-Z

Kanye reveals that the "Power (Remix)" with Jay-Z will drop this Friday and says Nicki Minaj has the potential to be the "number-two rapper of all-time."
Kanye West recently stopped by Angie Martinez's Hot 97 show to debut his latest song "See Me Now" off his highly anticipated upcoming album, dropping November 16. He addressed a number of issues surrounding his upcoming album.
'Ye also address the long-anticipated remix to his current single "Power" , featuring big brother Jay-Z. Although the Chi-Town rapper was tight-lipped about the song, he tell listeners that the remix will finally drop this Friday.
Mr. West also talked about Young Money superstar and DXnext alum Nicki Minaj, who he confirmed will appear on his upcoming LP. He said that he feels Nicki is perhaps the most dangerous new emcee in the game right now. He even went on to say that at the rate she's going right now, she could easily be the number two rapper of all, second only to Eminem.
"This is gonna be such a big statement, and such a big thing to fill: the scariest artist right now is definitely Nicki Minaj," he said. "I think she has the most potential to be the number-two rapper of all time. Nobody's gonna be bigger than Eminem."

Foxy Brown Killah Priest

Evidence preps Rhymesayers debut and lets fans remix single, while Foxy Brown says she's "focused on telling the truth" in court.
Last year, Evidence spoke to us about the release of his next solo project Cats & Dogs, his first release on Rhymesayers Entertainment.  As the release date for the album approaches, EV will release “To Be Continued…” as the disc’s first single (cover art pictured). In order to celebrate this release, RSE is holding a contest for fans, allowing them to remix the cut. The winner’s remix will be featured on the Rhymesayers’ site as well as RSE Radio, where they will get a spotlight and an interview. In addition, the winner will also receive a Diamond Supply Co. prize pack. For more on the contest, visit Rhymesayers’ website.
In legal news, Foxy Brown has testified in front of a jury investigating claims that she was involved in an argument with a neighbor. The reports also indicate that Brown mooned her neighbor during the dispute. “I’m happy to have a chance to tell the truth,” she said, according to the New York Daily News. “My focus is on telling the truth.” The investigation follows various legal woes for Brown, who is now being accused of violating a restraining order filed in 2007. Legal issues have followed Foxy for some time and earlier this year, her manager and former therapist weighed in on her legal woes. But Foxy’s lawyer, Salvatore Strazzullo, said that they were on a mission to clear Brown’s name. “We’re here for justice,” he noted.
Killah Priest has released The 3 Day Theory's "The Destroyer" featuring Steven King, Empuls and Onyx's Sonny Seeza. The track came about in an interesting manner, according to their label head. "Both Kount Fif and I are big fans of Onyx and we were having a discussion about how dope and slept on Sonny Seeza was," said the owner of Man Bits Dog Records. "I contacted Sonny and he told me he was available to come down in the next week or so. Plan was Sonny would come down for a couple of days and we would lay down a couple of verses. I got a call about a week later and Sonny was on his way. During the phone conversation he mentioned Killah Priest was coming with him. Sonny and Priest had been friends for years but had never done a song together. Also in the car was Steven King, an MC that Sonny had been working with."

50 Cent hell Shyne Conference Call

50 Cent Bombards Shyne Conference Call

Rapper 50 Cent goes off on fellow rapper Shyne during a conference call set up by Shyne's label Def Jam.
Rapper 50 Cent unleashed a profanity-filled tirade in a conference call with fellow rapper Shyne set up by Def Jam and XXL Magazine this week.
The entire phone call was filmed and later placed on 50 Cent’s Website, ThisIs50.com.
The video begins with 50 Cent, who was under a fake name, repeatedly trying to be routed to Shyne to ask his question. After various attempts 50 Cent is finally routed to Shyne and asks, “What is your real issue with 50?”
Shyne responds to 50’s question by stating that “there ain’t no issue” with 50 Cent. Seconds later the call is ended and 50 is muted from the system.
He tries a second time and is again muted, but is later connected to Shyne yet again.
“The 50 shit with Shyne and shit like that. I think that shit is a hoax,” said 50 Cent during the conference call. “I think it’s a way you try to gain attention in some ways because a nigga ain’t been fucking with you for 15 years. Like you been gone 10 years so he couldn’t have had no issues.”
Throughout the video various parts are edited to show Shyne looking somewhat confused as 50 Cent continues his tirade.

SNOOP’S TRUE BLOOD

SNOOP DOGG’s call for a cameo on hit vampire drama TRUE BLOOD has been rebuffed – the show’s star SAM TRAMMELL insists the series does not need superstars to entice viewers.
The rapper is a huge fan of the racy bloodsucking series, and urged TV bosses to get in touch with him to organize a guest appearance.
He recently said, “I love that show. I wish I could be on it. I’d be a hell of a vampire, don’t you think ? So what’s happenin’ ? True Blood, get at me – Snoop Dogg wants to be a vampire.”
But at a U.K. convention earlier this month (Aug10), True Blood shapeshifter Trammel admits the show’s creator Alan Ball is not keen on giving the rapper a tryout.
He tells fans, “Apparently Snoop has wanted to be on the show from the beginning, but I don’t think Alan Ball is going to let that happen.
“Having such a high-profile person appear in the show, I think it would take us all out of Bon Temps (show’s location). (Alan) doesn’t need to cast Snoop Dogg to get people to watch.”

BLACK GIRL LOST CHRONICLES: Jamie Foxx Goes In On Montana Fishburne + Montana Fires Back

Well looks like Montana Fishburne  aka "Chippy D" is getting all the attention she ever dreamed of since she hit the media outlets. Read her interview with AOL Black Voices and hear what the  "always opinionated" Jamie Foxx had to say about her on his Sirius Satellite radio show ...

Despite numerous attempts by friends of Laurence Fishburne to try and stop the release of the sex tape and offering a payout of a million dollars to Vivid Entertainment, Montana wasn't having it. In a recent AOL Black Voices interview, Montana talked about the frenzy surrounding her porno, Kim Kardashian being her inspiration, her father's thoughts and feeling exploited by Brian Pumper.
Black Voices: To what do you attribute to all the hysteria?

Montana Fishburne: People are going to talk no matter what. I'm excited that people are talking about it. I hope everything turns to more positive. I mean, they should be more excited about new porn coming out. I haven't seen a young black female porn star in a long time.
BV: Well, everyone wants to know what your father thinks about it?
MF: I mean, I haven't talked to him directly yet. We have conflicting schedules, so it's been hard. But, he's upset. I hope he supports me. But as soon as I talk to him, you guys are going to hear something.... This is something I wanted to do; it's a goal that I had. I think he'll be proud that I accomplished one of my goals. So if I'm happy, I'm sure that he'll be happy, too.
BV: How has Kim Kardashian really influenced you?
MF: She inspired me to go to Vivid. I always wanted to do porn. That was a given. So when I decided to start getting in to it, to see how I was going to go about it, I looked to her. Kim Kardashian released her sex tape with Vivid. Paris Hilton, Kendra Wilkinson, Pamela Anderson, all these people. And they're well known for having celebrity sex tapes. And Kim's is the one that did the best. Not did the best, but I felt like she got the most hype and buzz out of it. And she decided not to do porn. I want to do another film. And if I do decide to go mainstream, I feel releasing porn with Vivid is the best company to do it with, because they have other avenues that they deal with. I'm loving Vivid right now. They're the best.
BV: Now what's your association with Brian Pumper? He's saying that you have another movie coming out?
MF: I did a music video for him, but with my porn career, I'm focusing on Montana Fishburne with Vivid. That's what it is. The whole Brian Pumper thing, I look at it as a mistake honestly. And I'm trying to get away from that and focus on Vivid and the release of this movie.
BV: Do you think he's exploiting you?
MF: Yes, I feel taken advantage by Brian Pumper. I don't really want to go into details about the situation. Jeremy [Greene, an aspiring porn actor], he feels for me, he knows how I feel about it. He has talked to Brian, and they have dealt with each other, because I don't even want to deal with him anymore. I'm not in contact with Brian Pumper, and I'm just trying to get rid of the situation.

All the attention geared towards pubbing Montana's new "film" has sparked Jamie Foxx  to say something.  We would have appreciated Oprah, but Jamie decided to step in and let this "black girl lost" hear a few of his choice words about her and Brian Pumper.
Jamie Foxx Foxx took some shots at B. Pumper's rapping ability, saying Pumper should "stick to f***ing and buffing n***as penises because he is the worst rapper ever." The Foxxhole radio crew showed no mercy on Montana's pimple scarred butt cheeks either. Jamie also made sure to say what he would do if his daughter ever thought about releasing a sex tape.

Montana was not pleased when she heard the mean remarks from Jamie Foxx and his radio crew so took to her twitter page. She claimed that Jamie Foxx was also debuting a film--- a gay porno with Vivid Entertainment. LOL. Good way to stir up those gay rumors since Jamie Foxx's sexuality is always being questioned.

New York City Settles Sean Bell Police Shooting for $7.15 Million

New York City agreed Tuesday to pay more than $7 million to settle a wrongful death civil suit lodged by the fiancée and pals of Sean Bell, the unarmed black groom gunned down by cops on his wedding day four years ago.  Read on for the details...

The settlement, one of the largest in NY state history, ends a four-year legal battle by the would-be bride Nicole Paultre Bell and two men wounded in a 50-shot barrage that claimed her lover's life.
Under the agreement, the city will pay $3.25 million to Sean Bell's family estate, which is controlled by Paultre Bell. Bell's pals Joseph Guzman, 35, who was shot 11 times in the incident, will receive $3 million and Trent Benefield, 27, who was shot three times, will be granted $900,000.
"I believe the settlement is fair," said Paultre Bell, the mother of Bell's two daughters, Jada, 7, and Jordyn, 4. "No amount of money can provide closure for losing Sean. I don't think there will ever be closure."
Guzman and Benefield, were in a car with Bell when undercover cops opened fire on them outside the Club Kalua strip club in Queens on Nov. 25, 2006, hours before Bell was to get married.
Detectives Michael Oliver, Marc Cooper and Gescard Isnora were all acquitted in a 2008 trial of manslaughter and reckless endangerment charges stemming from the Bell shooting. The cops fired on Bell's lurching car after mistakenly believing someone inside had a gun and fearing that Bell was trying to run them down.
The U.S. Attorney in Brooklyn declined to prosecute the cops for civil rights violations.
The NYPD still has yet to decide whether to discipline a total of five officers involved in the shooting.

Tu pac about the Shooting

Article about the Shooting
Six months after the murder of rapper Tupac Shakur in Las Vegas-- a case in which no arrests have yet been made -- MTV News has obtained a 29-page document prepared by police in Compton, California, which reveals that only a few days after Shakur's murder last September 7th, Compton police had already learned the name of the man some local gang members believed to be responsible for the crime.
This document, it must be emphasized, is based largely on the words of Compton police informants. It does not legally prove who killed Tupac, nor does it legally prove that his death was a gang murder. Proof is the job of the courts. However, the Compton police document does contain a startling account of the events that led up to Shakur's murder and a shot-by-shot account of the five day blood bath his killing seems to have set off in Compton. A gang-war that apparently left three men dead and ten wounded. It also deals with a host of questions as to the identity of the man who allegedly shot Tupac Shakur.
This 29-page statement of probable cause offers some intriguing answers. It was written up by Compton police last September and was attached to a motion filed in February by Suge Knight's defense team as part of their attempt to overturn Knight's probation violation. Based largely on information provided to the Compton police by their gang-informants, the statement (or affidavit) gives an unverified but considerably detailed account of gang-related activity in Compton before and after the shooting of Tupac Shakur in Las Vegas on the night of Saturday, September 7th.
According to the statement of probable cause, five days after Shakur was shot, an informant with special knowledge of the activities of the Bloods -- a man identified in the statement as CRI or "confidential reliable informant" #3 --provided police with a sequence of events which suggested that the shooting in Vegas might have been the culmination of a beef that began at the Lakewood Mall in Compton. The informant told Compton police that a man named Travon Lane -- a Death Row affiliate also known as "Tray" -- was at the mall's Foot Locker in July or August of last year when he was confronted by several members of the Southside Crips. There was a scuffle during which Lane's Death Row medallion was taken from him.
Fast forward to September 7th in Las Vegas -- the night of the Tyson/Seldon fight at the MGM Grand. According to the affidavit, CRI #3 told the Compton cops that moments after the bout, Travon Lane was walking through the hotel as part of Death Row's entourage when he spotted a man later identified as Orlando Anderson. The same man, Lane thought who'd taken his medallion at the Lakewood mall two months ago. Lane pointed the man out to Shakur. Shakur confronted Anderson with the question "You from the South?" -- an apparent reference to the Southside Crips. A melee ensued -- captured on tape by MGM Grand surveillance cameras.
Little more than an hour later, as a line of Death Row cars snaked its way to a party at Knight's Club 662, a white Cadillac with California license plates -- according to one report -- pulled up to the right of Shakur and Knight's vehicle. According to the affidavit, a passenger opened fire with a Glock .40 caliber handgun, grazing Knight and critically wounding Shakur -- as members of the Death Row entourage watched from the cars behind Knight's.
In the affidavit, the informant is also said to have told Compton police he heard Travon Lane at Club 662 declaring that the shooter was the same man who'd been in the melee at the MGM Grand and that the shooter was "Keefee D's nephew." According to police, Orlando Anderson is the nephew of the man known by Compton police to be Keefee D. Both are reputed to be Southside Crips.
Back in Compton on September 9th, the day according to the affidavit that another informant noticed a late-model white Cadillac being driven into a local auto shop by Orlando Anderson's cousin-- three separate Blood sects convened at Lueders Park. The topic of discussion, according to the affidavit? The need to retaliate against the Southside Crips for the attack on Tupac Shakur. Compton police were told by their informant that five sites for drive-by shootings were chosen. Three potential targets were singled out.
At 2:58 that afternoon at a location on East Alondra, one such man -- whose name was mentioned to Las Vegas police as someone who might have been riding in the white Cadillac -- was shot in the back. The war was on.

Two days later at 9:05 on the morning of September 11th, Southside Crip Bobby Finch was gunned down on South Mayo. The next day, Vegas police told Compton cops that they'd received calls that Finch had been riding in the white Cadillac. By early morning on the 14th, five more people had been shot in what Compton police regarded as related assaults. Meanwhile, three Bloods were fired on and wounded in two separate shootings. On September 13th, the day Tupac Shakur died, two more Bloods were shot and killed by an assailant who fled on foot.
As the gang war raged, police in Compton and Las Vegas continued to receive unsubstantiated tips that "Keefee D's nephew" or " Baby Lane" -- aliases for Orlando Anderson -- had shot Tupac Shakur. On the 13th, the affidavit says, one reputed member of the Bloods identified the man who'd shot him in Compton two days earlier as Orlando Anderson. On the 20th, an eyewitness fingered Anderson as the triggerman in an April 1996 homicide. Around that same time, the affidavit states, an informant told one police officer that Anderson had been spotted with a .40 caliber Glock handgun -- a potentially significant tip, since it hadn't yet been revealed publicly that a .40 caliber Glock had been used in the attack on Shakur.
On October 2nd, as part of a gang sweep, Compton police arrested Anderson in connection with that April 1996 homicide, but the District Attorney's office declined to press charges and asked police to gather more evidence. Compton police told MTV News that Anderson remains the prime suspect in the April 1996 homicide, and charges are expected to be formally filed imminently. As for Anderson's attorney, he declined to comment on this or any other allegations contained in the affidavit. And says that he has not been informed that his client remains the prime suspect in that April 1996 homicide. He has previously denied that Anderson was in any way involved with the killing of Shakur.
While testifying under oath in Suge Knight's probation hearing, Orlando Anderson invoked the Fifth Amendment when asked if he was a member of the Crips and denied that Knight had assaulted him. Vegas police questioned Anderson briefly in October after which one Vegas cop was quoted as saying that Anderson was not a suspect in Shakur's murder. Four months later, Vegas Sgt. Kevin Manning told the Los Angeles Times that Anderson was indeed a suspect in Shakur's killing, but that the department lacks hard evidence against him. Vegas police say that since the night of the shooting they have not been able to speak to Travon Lane -- who the affidavit asserts was involved with the scuffle with Anderson at the Lakewood Mall, who pointed Anderson out to Shakur at the MGM Grand and was heard at Club 662 hours after the shooting IDing Anderson as the shooter. Efforts by MTV News to talk with Travon Lane were unsuccessful.

Tu Pac The Las Vegas Shooting

The Las Vegas Shooting
Tupac was fatally shot in a drive-by shooting in Las Vegas, Nevada on September 7, 1996 after attending the boxing match between Mike Tyson and Bruce Seldon. He died in the University Medical Center hospital six days later from the four gunshot wounds.
The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department and Compton police, although they never officially solved the case, concluded that Shakur was shot by Southside Crips after the Tyson fight. Hours before the shooting, Tupac had been involved in a fight in the lobby of the MGM Hotel after the Tyson-Seldon fight. Shakur started the fight when he noticed 21-year-old "Baby Lane" Anderson, who had beaten up one of his bodyguards in a shopping mall a few weeks earlier, lingering nearby. Anderson and others were interviewed by police later in connection with the murder, though no suspects were ever publicly named.
Shakur and the crew at Death Row generally depended on members of the Bloods gang for security, while Biggie and the Bad Boy Crew depended on Crips members for security when visiting California. An investigation by the Las Vegas Times, while not naming its gang-member sources, stated that Biggie (who was also in town for the fight) offered to pay the Crips in exchange for Shakur's death. It was noted by the Compton Gang Unit that the Crips were bragging about the killing soon after returning to Compton. Compton Police were disappointed with the lack of initiative showed by Las Vegas police in pursuing the killing.
After the fight with Anderson, Tupac left the MGM Hotel, went to the hotel with his fiance, Kadida Jones. Then, he met up with Suge to go to Death Row's Club 662 in Las Vegas. The two drove together in Suge's 1996 black BMW sedan e38 7-series, part of a larger convoy of cars including some of Shakur's friends, the Outlawz, and bodyguards. Tupac was not wearing a bulletproof vest that night, even though Death Row had provided him with one. At 11:15 P.M., Suge's car stopped at an intersection on East Flamingo Road. A white Cadillac was seen pulling up to the passenger side of the car, and firing thirteen rounds into the car as Tupac attempted to climb to safety in the back seat. Tupac was hit four times, twice in the chest, and in his arm and thigh, while Suge was scratched by a piece of flying glass (while later claiming in an interview he had a bullet stuck in his head). Tupac then went on to live off of life support for 7 days and his mother finally had the plugs pulled on September 13, 1996 at 4:03 PM. After his death, Shakur was cremated, and his mother reportedly spread his ashes in L.A. saying that Tupac would want to be in the city he loved best.
The high profile nature of the killing and ensuing gang violence caught the attention of British filmmaker Nick Broomfield who made the documentary Biggie & Tupac, which examines the lack of progress in the case and the controversy and theories surrounding it by speaking to those close to Biggie, Tupac and the investigation.
Shakur's close childhood friend — and a member of the Outlawz — Yafeu "Kadafi" Fula, was in the convoy when the shooting happened and told police he might be able to identify the assailants. He, too, was killed shortly thereafter in New Jersey. Two teenagers took plea bargains and are serving time for Fula's murder. The eerie video for the single "I Ain't Mad at Cha", shot a month before his death, showed Tupac being shot and killed and later in heaven jamming with Billie Holiday, Donny Hathaway, Jimi Hendrix, Louis Armstrong, Marvin Gaye, Miles Davis, Nat King Cole, Redd Foxx, Robert Johnson, and Sammy Davis Jr.

Tu Pac The first shooting (New York)

The first shooting (New York)
In 1994, shortly before being sent to prison for sexual abuse , Shakur was shot five times in an apparent robbery attempt outside a New York music studio. Tupac recalled the circumstances shortly afterwards in an interview with Vibe magazine. He was with his close friend Stretch, manager Freddie Moore, and another friend on the night of November 30, 1994.
They arrived at a studio so Shakur could do some recordings for an acquaintance, Booker, whom he didn't quite trust. When they got to the studio, Tupac was suspicious of two black men in their thirties, both dressed in army fatigues, because neither of them seemed to acknowledge his presence. He noted that he was less wary of them than he should have been because he "had just finished smoking chronic". Shakur simply assumed they must be security for The Notorious B.I.G. (aka Biggie), whom he was still friends with at the time.
The two men, whom Shakur described as looking like they were from New York, came at him with identical 9mm handguns, and forced him and his friends to the floor. Their aggression was focused almost exclusively on Tupac, although they did threaten to shoot Stretch as well. They forced everybody to lie on the floor, but Tupac remained standing. He later said he had frozen. They demanded he hand over his jewelry, which he refused to do. After grabbing at one of the armed men, Tupac was shot in the leg, through his scrotum. He fell to the floor, and was shot a further 4 times, which he later claimed not to have realised; he believed he was being kicked & that his head was being beaten upon the floor. He recalled seeing white light, but never believed he could die. He lay silent, pretending to be dead. He was shot 5 times in total and robbed of the gold jewelry he was wearing, worth over forty thousand dollars.
Upon regaining consciousness, he entered the elevator and went upstairs to safety, where his then-friends Biggie, Puffy, Little Caesar, and others were waiting. Shakur described his friends as acting very strangely, almost surprised at his being alive. His first words after realizing how severe his wounds were, having been shot in the head and the scrotum, were "Oh, shit. Roll me some weed. Call my mom and tell her I've been shot." He was also very surprised that none of his other friends, who were also wearing jewelry weren't robbed. He survived, and left the hospital a day after, against doctor's orders because he was feeling harassed by phone calls and the doctors. He showed up in court just few days afterwards in a wheelchair to face his verdict in the sexual assault case.
